About

Our Story

Waystation Consulting was born from a long-time belief: every journey includes valleys and climbs, and every story includes a life fracture so impactful that we lose our footing and need a place to rest and regroup in order to keep going.

For thousands of years travelers crossed deserts, oceans, climbed mountains and walked long paths. They knew something we may have forgotten today: we cannot make our long journey without stopping to rest and reset.

Along the journey there were waystations — places of hospitality and welcome, where travelers could stop, stay, be still, share meals, tend to their injuries, replenish supplies, exchange stories, read and study their maps, and prepare for the next part of the journey.

We travel through rough terrain on our life paths. We encounter the death of loved ones. Illness. Job loss. Burnout. Displacement. Retirement. Trauma. Divorce. Empty nests. Recovery. A crisis of identity. On these stretches of road, our old maps are no longer of any use to us.

But the world today tells us to quickly regroup, optimize, become a better version of ourselves and keep marching on and producing — as if nothing happened.

We offer an invitation to pause, rest, reclaim your identity and your dignity, rediscover hope, and then — keep going.

Blessed are the merciful

Everyone arrives carrying a story. We lead with grace before judgement.

What guides every session

Compassion

Blessed are those who mourn

Grief is not something to fix. It is something to accompany.

Integrity

Blessed are the pure in heart

We practice honesty, humility, and alignment between our words and our lives.

Our Values

Gentleness

Blessed are the meek

We refuse force, shame, or urgency. Healing has its own pace.

Peacebuilding

Blessed are the peacemakers

We help people reconcile with themselves, with others where possible, and with the next chapter of their journey.

Longing

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness

We believe people are made for dignity, restoration, and meaningful lives.

Courage

Blessed are those persecuted for righteousness

Hope often requires courage. We stay with what is true, even when the path is difficult.

Her Personal Journey

Julia's path hasn't always been linear. Her own seasons of disorienting life fractures, and learning how to keep traveling new roads became the idea behind Waystation. These experiences shaped her desire to create a calm, thoughtful, and hopeful space where others can pause without judgement, receive support, and regroup for the road ahead.

"Waystation was born from my own seasons of loss, grief, burnout, caregiving, disenfranchisement and displacement, and profound role and identity changes. Navigating these fractures taught me the vital necessity of a pause. My journey shaped Waystation into a calm, thoughtful, and hopeful space where others can find their footing again."
